Ephesians 4 v1-6

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Eph 4:1-6

Unity: henotes, oneness, especially the God-produced oneness between believers

bond: syndesmos, a close (inner) identity which produces harmony between members joined closely

peace: eirene, the wholeness when all essential parts are joined together

What am I doing to promote this oneness in His body on earth this week? It’s not just a matter of joining people together – but in a manner that promotes closeness. Though there may be individual tensions that come to the fore, we are of the same Spirit and are called to the same belief, which should take precedence. How often am I reminding myself of this when interacting with other believers, particularly those whom I don’t know as well?
